Aftab Alpha is about creating and analyzing luminance based HDR images. It is Python based software with some commands scripted in C++. It uses some Radiance commands. DCRAW is used whenver it deals with RAW image files.

Other than Camera Calibration, HDR assembly and HDR analysis tools, it has some other useful tools such as Evalglare interface for doing glare assessment for the imported HDR images and also sunpath diagram creation page. Finally, it has another page to visually analyze different types of images such as jpg, bmp, png, etc.

By clicking on this link, you can download and install a trial version and use its full function for about 6 weeks. Then if you like it and it satisfies your expectation, you can order for a one year license.

To install the software properly, please installed the software in C:\Aftab_Soft otherwise there is a risk that the software failed to work well.

Camera/Lens Calibration:

The first and most important part of it is camera calibration and HDR creator page that calibrate cameras and create HDR images from a sequence of RAW file images. Normally, if we follow the software instruction for taking pictures, its uncertainty is about 10%. Regarding this defect, it is worse than its other competitors in the market, but you can use a variety of models and lenses, camera calibration is much more user friendly, and finally, its price will be much cheaper than its rivals.

FalseColor Analysis Page:

The second part is False-Color Analysis page. Its functionality is about analytically evaluating any HDR images created in the software or by any other computer programs. Here, the user can import the image and then manipulate, read and evaluate the values extracted from the image.

One-Pic Analysis Page:

The next page makes some kind of visual analysis for a variety types of pictures like HDR, JPG, BMP, PNG, etc. Its analysis is more relevant to assess the quality of the space rather than its light quantity. Its main rule is highlighting dark and light spots of the image by adjusting its brightness border.

Evaluate Glare Page:

The Fourth one is for glare analysis. It is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) for Evalglare tool developed by Fraunhofer institute in Germany. In this page we can detect glare sources of a scene and calculate its glare indexes.
